Pick me up...

There is something about weddings.... When I am feeling down I always seem to look at wedding photos. It is supposed to be the most joyous day of your life, a day that is all about you and your lover... couldn't be better really!

I have always loved the idea of a casual wedding. An event where people feel comfortable, an event that celebrates the new husband and wife and what is important to them. I am getting married in 16 weeks. I have set aside 2 days this week to do wedding stuff... Pick the boys suits... Find me some sexy undies... Find a veil that isn't $300.00... There are so many things to do and for some reason, never enough time to do them!

I have to say that I am a self proclaimed 'do it yourself' yourself bride, or as my dear friends call it - Control freak! The designer was lucky I didn't rip the dress out of her hands and do it myself! I have been totally addicted to a blog called Polka Dot Bride now this girl has certainly made my life a lot easier pointing me in the right direction, if anyone out there is planning a wedding, get on her blog!! You will thank me for it!

My heart just skipped a beat!

My dear friend Judy of Verandah House has been in the process of designing her own line of furniture... I was lucky enough to see a preview of them when I did some of the design drawings, but the moment has arrived... and the first collection is in the country! It is crazy beautiful, so unique and the best quality bamboo and cane furniture I have seen in a while.

I can't wait to use these gorgeous pieces...

The photos really don't do these pieces justice... Plenty more images to come I am sure!

When old is new again...

There is something about old pieces, the stories behind them, the scratches and marks. I was looking through one of the many supplier websites and came across a really well priced dining table, I thought to myself, we could do with a new dining table I had a chat to Ryan about it and we decided to have a look around. A week later I have been looking though some of my old kiddy photos and found this image...

Thats me next to the old kitchen table in one of the many houses from my childhood it would have been about 1989... There are huge dents and divots in this table from where I had tried to help mum cut up vegies and create beautiful artistic masterpieces, much like the one behind me on the fridge... It wasn't until I walked through our dining area and saw this that I thought... I much prefer the old to the new....

Colour my world...

I have just discovered a new love of colour. One of my clients wanted us to make a start on her new town house. We started with the lounge, and one of her major briefs was to use colour, and lots of it! It is finally coming together after a long wait for a couple of items. I will post some images when I have them!

Here are a few of my favourite uses of colour... Some of them will be familiar..
