Moving Forward - 2012

On Christmas Day, my father asked me to write a list of what I had achieved in 2011 and what I want to achieve in 2012.  2011 was a weird year, Ryan and I got married which was a very happy day for us, but a horrible, life changing day for others as we were married on the 11th of January the day the floods started to peak.  One of my best friends had her first child, a beautiful baby boy and they changed my view on families and children.  I was always someone who was scared of children, scared of the responsibility, scared of hurting them... Now I can't wait to have a family of my own, to create a life, a personality, a little person!  This year I have watched some very close friends try to move forward through loss, devestation and hurt.  To see people you love, suffer in a way you will never understand truly is heart breaking, but to see them come out the other side stronger and full of love is awe inspiring.  On the other hand, I achieved something I didn't think I would this year...Opening my shop.  My little haven of creativity... I am so proud of both Ryan and I for getting as far as we have, although most of what I hear about 2011 is doom and gloom, for me, it was generally pretty good!  So what is happening in 2012??  Well if I have learnt anything this year, nothing goes to plan, nothing no matter how much you prepare will be 'perfect.'  So if at the end of 2012 I can say I have achieved something and moved forward in some way, be that, spiritually, emotionally, mentally or financially, I will be happy with that!  So tonight, enjoy yourself!  Have that extra glass of bubbles and don't be afraid of a headache the next day!  Spend the money on a taxi and get home safely!  2012 will be what it will, who knows whats coming, all we can do is continue to move forward and enjoy every minute!  Happy New Year!! xxxxx

Christmas Break

Well one might think I have taken my Christmas break without saying good bye!  Not the case... I have been so busy over the past 3 weeks I am well and truly ready for sleep ins, stuffing myself with food and getting some things done around the house that have been on my to do list since last Christmas!  Since opening the shop in September I have been overwhelmed with the support from my family, friends and my new lovely customers!  Some I have known for years after working in the area, others I have only just met, either way, I am so excited to continue in 2012 providing you with a place to come and be inspired, to have a chat or even to hide...

The shop is my way of being creative without boundaries,  it is a true reflection of what I love and what makes me tick.  In 2012, there will be plenty of changes, growth and more interior work to show you.  I can't thank you all enough for supporting me, encouraging me and motivating me to take the step.  Now I will continue to take more and I really hope you will pop in and see where we are up to..

I wish you all a lovely Christmas and New Year with safe travels and safe eating (keep that seafood cold!), I will see you back here January 3rd ready and rearing to go! xxx

Bloggy Christmas

Over the past few months I have found the blog world is filled with the most talented, lovely people and tonight, I will get to meet many of the bloggers I follow at Ivy and Pipers Christmas Party for QLD Bloggers.  The dress: Fabulosity.  My reaction: AHHHHH!  Since opening the shop I haven't really had time to wash my hair, let alone shop for a fabulous dress... Luckily, I spent the weekend in Sydney with one of my best friends for her birthday... We may or may not have timed the visit so we could go the the Harry Potter Exhibition, but thats an entirely different story!  So this afternoon when I finish at the shop, there will be a quick change in to something that will mildly resemble 'fabulosity' and I will be off to drink and be merry with the people who unknowingly inspire me every day...  I will take some photos to share with you tomorrow! xx
