Monday Mark

Well once again, life took over and there was no time for blogging! But rather than over 3 or 4 months, I am back in just over a week!

I had a couple of new clients come by last week, one of whom came to me and said "I want a gorgeous home filled with navy and white, but I don't want to hear the words Ralph Lauren mentioned once..."

Oh dear... Ralph Lauren really is the King of navy and white. No other man does it better... but there is a woman!

Victoria Hagan has been a lover of mine for a while. There is one image of a living room with a navy and white striped rug that most of you would know. Last year this classic designer released a book. It is now one of my very favourites and a perfect alternative for inspiration to the infamous Ralph Lauren.

Stay in Style

For the past year my boss and I have been working on a hotel in Brisbane. Slowly but surely we are getting to the completion of one of the new large common rooms of the hotel. My boss Daryl, was lucky enough to work with the very talented Anouska Hempel. This woman just seems to ooze style and until working with Daryl, I wasn't aware of her work. Each of her gorgeous rooms in her many hotels, truly create a home away from home.

Imagine walking into your bedroom at your home away from and being greeted with this! Just what the doctor ordered after a long day's shopping in London.
Love this courtyard, green and intimate. A perfect place for a cup of tea and a good book...

As soon as I am able I will share some photos of the hotel. We are so excited to complete the project... Stay tuned!

Monday Mark

Well I have been very slack. Since my last post we have had Christmas, New Year and my Wedding! Finally this year is starting to run along smoothly for me, and I have made a promise to my new husband and myself that I will be on here in blog land making my mark!

So to begin each Monday, I would like to take a look at the people who inspire me. Designers and decorators, local and international that make me want to be better.

Today my ultimate fav... Windsor Smith.

Windsor's love of classic detail is something that we share. A love of wainscoting, moldings and rich design history. In all of her work the mix of architectural details and colour are perfect.
